What is Eczema?Eczema affects 1-3% of adults, and 10-20% of children globally, and is not showing any signs of letting up. However, there is no certain cause or cure. When treating this issue, I cover each element of the ‘five pillars’ in assessing the patient to ensure the best outcome for them and their families.
HOW IS ECZEMA DIAGNOSED?Eczema is usually very easy to diagnose in clinic. The symptoms are dry, red, flaky, very itchy skin which often worsens in the cold months and during periods where the pollen count is high. If left untreated for a long time, eczema can become infected and start to ooze.
